Purpose of the project
The goal of the Dature implementation project was to automate the process of generating demand forecasts and purchase order recommendations as well as optimizing inventory levels.
Challenge
The ASG industry is characterized by different demand characteristics in the B2B and B2C channels, and is significantly influenced by seasonal behavior. The wide assortment of products and cyclically introduced novelties require advanced methods of forecasting demand as well as very careful tracking of sales and proper management of purchases.
Although ASG items can be stocked for a long time, rapidly changing consumer trends require constant review of the product portfolio and adjustment of inventory levels. Companies operating in the ASG industry must constantly balance the cost of inventory with the level of customer service (Service Level), while taking into account various constraints such as minimum order size and lead time.
Project implementation
Implementations system Dature over Krakman realized has been by KONSLOG company, authorized implementation partner Dature, with the support of Smartstock. The application Dature was launched within three months of the start of the project. A module has been implemented statistical demand forecasting in granular per SKU per B2B and B2C channel, as well as an in-stocking recommendation module. This was followed by dedicated functionality for managing out-of-stock outliers.
Customer reviews
,,
“The Dature application is used to forecast our products in B2B and B2C channels and generate optimal purchase order recommendations. Proper understanding of the specifics of demand for our goods from the perspective of each channel allows us to properly plan future sales, promotional activities and investments in our product portfolio. By automating the generation of purchase orders and alerts of potential risk of goods availability emergencies, we are able to more effectively ensure the availability of our end customers as well as our business partners.”
Robert Nowak, Managing Director of Krakman
